2020 GRADUATES part 2

We want to Honor the great accomplishments of our 2020 Graduates!! Please congratulate them, encourage them in their next steps and pray for them and their parents as they navigate this next season.

COMING THIS SUNDAY | 7:30 PM

THIS SUNDAY We will be hosting our first ever Transit Live on Zoom.  We are so excited to connect with all the students together!  The evening will start at 7:30 and include various elements of fun and games, worship, a quick recap and summary of the message and will end with small groups.  Please remind and encourage your teen to join us for this!  We'll see you then!
For security reasons we will only post the Zoom link and password on our unpublished page.  If you are on our texting list we will send you the link to get this or you can get it from your student's small group leader.

2020 GRADUATES part 1

We want to Honor the great accomplishments of our 2020 Graduates!! Please congratulate them, encourage them in their next steps and pray for them and their parents as they navigate this next season.

Parent Conversation GUIDE  for 5.24

Check out our Parent Conversation guide to help you engage with your teen about the message from this past Sunday.
Try these opportunities for conversations: around the table at lunch or dinner, driving in the car, family gathering times or getting ready for bed.  You know your student and their schedule best.  Find the least distracting times without screens or TV.  This is also a great time to be a little vulnerable with your teen which will make them feel more safe and willing to share.  We are praying for you and this time.

Making Memories with your Teens

We love seeing families making memories together.  Sometimes it could be a planned outing or a special project and then other times it can be just a spontaneous moment of dance.  Take some intentional time this week to make a memory together with your teen.

PARENT WORKSHOP to Help your Teen overcome ANXIETY

This will be a great resource to help you care for your teen especially in these times as anxiety is on the rise!  Check out these stats from their website and click below for more information and to Register.
__________________________________________
For 15 years we have witnessed hockey stick growth in anxiety and depression among children. The average child aged 9-17 scores as high on anxiety scales as those admitted for in-patient psychiatric treatment in the 1950’s. Though it’s now considered “normal”, suicide has become the second leading cause of death for fifteen to twenty-nine-year-olds. Between 2005 and 2014, the number of teens diagnosed with clinical depression increased 37%. Suicide attempts among high schoolers has increased by 25% starting in 2009. And girls aged 10-12 have attempted poisoning themselves by an increase of 268%. The recent pandemic has already caused a marked increase in depression and anxiety among Americans.

Serving Our Community: Clean up in Holly Hills

Our community needs our help in cleaning up debris and trees.
So we are mobilizing Friday, April 24 to help in the Holly Hills neighborhood.  We will meet at 9:30 AM at Scenic City Orthodontics off of Jenkins (weather permitting.)  We are joining with a group that has already been working in the area and has just received a request from several other families needing help.

We are asking for a parent to join with your teen or if you would like to car pool several families together with a supervising adult.  It is recommended that everyone helping wears closed-toe shoes, long sleeves and pants that can get messy and a pair of gloves (we may have extra gloves as well).  Let's not forget to be safe as we gather together with the Covid virus still an emit threat in our community. Adults with chainsaws, rakes and wheelbarrows are greatly needed as well.

Please let us know what times you are able to serve even if it’s only for a couple hours and how many would be with you.  We look forward to joining you as we serve our community to spread the Love of Jesus!!
