FAQ's - Groups

What will my group do?
Each group is unique but will involve connection, real talk, and learning to trust Jesus together. Groups study the Bible together, but this can look different in each season. Some read devotionals, study books in the Bible, or engage with different topics in the Scriptures. Your group will also pray together and serve people in your community. You’ll be building authentic community and friendships as you discover, develop, and deepen your relationship with Jesus.
Where do groups meet?
Most groups meet in homes.
Is childcare available?
RockPoint doesn’t offer childcare for small groups. If needed, we will reimburse a portion of your childcare cost for group nights.  Your leader can give you more information.
How often do groups meet?
Groups meet on different days and times throughout the week. Some meet every week and some meet every other week.
How long will my group last?
While it varies, groups typically last 12-18 months.
When will the next round of groups launch?
We strategically launch groups twice a year: In September (registration begins in August) and then again in February (registration begins in January). We’ve found that a deeper connection is formed when everyone starts together in a group at the same time. We understand that this is inconvenient at times, but in the long run, we believe it’s a sacrifice worth making. In the meantime, the simplest and easiest way to get connected and meet other people is to serve on one of our teams. Please visit rockpointcc.org/serve, and we’ll connect you to the best of our ability.
How do I register for a group?
We make it as simple as possible for you. During small group registration (January & August),  go to our website, rockpointcc.org/groups, and click on the tab of the type of group you’re looking for (Married, Men’s, or Women’s Groups are available). Once you click on the tab, you’ll see the group offerings we have.  You can choose the group that works best for you based on the area of town and the night of the week they meet.
How do I know when registration starts?
Registration for our small groups begins in January and August. Promotion for registration during those months will be during our services, through church-wide emails, and posts on our social media channels. To sign up to receive church-wide emails, please email Jen Shankle at [email protected].

How do I know when registration starts?
Registration periods for our small groups begin in January and August. We will communicate about registration in our services, as well as through church-wide emails and social media posts during those months. To sign up to receive church-wide emails, please email Jen Shankle at [email protected].
What if I miss the deadline?
It happens. While we can’t guarantee anything, contact Jen Shankle at [email protected], and we’ll do our best to connect you in a group based on availability within a few weeks after registration closes. If it’s more than a few weeks after registration, we will need to wait to connect you when the next round of groups launches.
What are short-term groups?
Short-term groups are similar to our typical small groups, but they meet for a shorter period. You’ll get a taste of community and study one or two topics from the Bible. Short-term groups generally last 6-8 weeks. Like our other small groups, childcare is not available for short-term groups.
