What happens in Waumba Land?

Toddler – Pre-K children will meet in a circle each week in their classrooms and learn about God in meaningful and developmentally appropriate ways through hands-on activities. 3's – Pre-K classrooms will participate in “Large Group” for their Bible story and worship. This is a full production they will not want to miss. Ask them about it!

How old does my baby need to be?

We are equipped to care for babies when they are 6 weeks old.

What time should I arrive?

For the 9:15am service, check-in begins at 8:55am.For the 11:15am service, check-in begins at 10:55am. We GREATLY encourage parents to arrive early to allow extra time for drop-off and getting to the auditorium before the service starts! If you happen to be running late (we get it, we're parents too), someone will always be available to get you to the right place and help you check in.

How do I register my child?

When you arrive, come straight to Waumba Land. A team of helpful volunteers will greet you at our Check-In desk. If it's your first time, you will fill out a quick child registration form. From there, a volunteer will guide you and your child to the proper room and introduce you to your child's class team member.

How can I be sure my child is safe?

Your child will receive a special numbered tag that matches a corresponding parent tag. Your parent tag will allow you access to the Waumba Land hallway and is matched with your child’s tag to ensure safety. You don’t have to wear them, just keep them close and available! You will need your security tag to pick up your child after the service. All Waumba Land Volunteers are carefully trained and background checked before serving in your child’s classroom.

What if you need to contact me during the service?

If we need to contact you for any reason, we will first try texting the parent(s) on file. If we receive no response from the text we will display “Waumba Land” and your parent security number on the auditorium screens.

What about allergies or special needs?

Please notify us of ANY and ALL allergies, medical and/or behavioral special needs on the space provided on the guest registration form. Allergies will be placed on your child’s printed name tag, but please also notify the small group leader. For children with medical or behavioral specials needs, we pair them with a “buddy” who will be their personal guide to help them have a successful hour. If your child might be in need of a “buddy” please email us at least a week in advance at [email protected] so we can best accommodate their needs.

Who will be caring for my child?

Your child will be placed in an age appropriate small group with carefully trained and background checked Small Group Leaders. By attending the same hour each week your child will make friends and have the same Small Group Leaders and group of children in their room.

What precautions do you take for health and cleanliness?

We work hard to keep Waumba Land a clean and safe environment for your kids. Each week, all toys are cleaned and sterilized with two different natural disinfectants, Basic G and Basic H. We ask all parents to please observe the fever and symptom free for 24 hours rule: “Children who have shown signs of fever, vomiting, or other contagious illnesses should be symptom and fever free for 24 hours before coming to Waumba Land.” (That means if your child has a fever on Saturday morning, but not on Sunday morning we ask that you please keep them at home with you to help prevent the spread of illnesses and to help build their immune system.) If we notice your child showing signs of sickness while in Waumba Land we will page you to come get them so they can rest and recover.

Do you have a nursing mother’s room?

Yes we do! Our nursing room is located in the foyer just outside the entrance to Waumba Land.

What if I’m not ready to bring my child into Waumba Land?

If your child needs to attend the service with you, you are more than welcome to bring children into the service. We do, however, highly encourage you to try out Waumba Land and allow yourself to experience the adult environment with your full attention.
